Presidency: We Warn of the Danger of the Occupation Government's Decision to Convert West Bank Lands to So-Called 'State Property'

SadaNews - The Palestinian presidency warned of the danger of the Israeli occupation government's decision, which violates international law, to convert the lands of the West Bank into what is called 'state property', belonging to the occupying authorities. This decision is considered a threat to security and stability, and constitutes a serious escalation and a blatant violation of international law and international legitimacy.

The presidency stated that the rejected and condemned Israeli decision is tantamount to an actual annexation of the occupied Palestinian land, and an announcement of the beginning of the implementation of plans to annex Palestinian land with the aim of entrenching the occupation through illegal settlements. It also constitutes an end to the signed agreements and is in clear contradiction with the decisions of the United Nations Security Council, especially Resolution 2334, which considers all settlements illegal in all occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem.

The presidency believes that these unilateral measures will not grant the occupation any legitimacy over the land of the State of Palestine, and will not change the legal and historical fact that the West Bank, including East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip, is occupied Palestinian land according to international law and international legitimacy.

The presidency called on the international community, led by the United Nations Security Council and the U.S. administration, to intervene immediately to stop these dangerous Israeli measures and to compel it to comply with the decisions of international legitimacy and international law to achieve calm and halt the escalation.
