The Fatwa House Calls for Moon Sighting of Ramadan on Tuesday Evening

SadaNews - The Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories, Chairman of the Supreme Fatwa Council Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, has urged citizens to sight the crescent moon of the holy month of Ramadan for the year 1447 AH, after sunset on Tuesday, 29 Sha'ban 1447 AH, corresponding to February 17, 2026 AD.

The Grand Mufti urged those who see the crescent moon to report to the Palestinian Fatwa Office in Jerusalem, or the Fatwa Office in their area, to testify, or to contact the following numbers:

He clarified that establishing the sighting of the Ramadan crescent suffices with one just witness, as it pertains to the act of fasting.

He also called on citizens to follow the official statement that will be issued on Tuesday evening via the Voice of Palestine radio, Palestine Television, and the Palestinian Satellite Channel.
