"The agreement is extremely difficult"... A new American message to Tehran

SadaNews - In a new warning to Iran, following the one-month deadline previously set by U.S. President Donald Trump, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed that an agreement with the Iranian side is extremely difficult.

Rubio stated today, Saturday, in an interview with Bloomberg News in Munich that Trump prefers to reach an agreement with Iran, but that is extremely challenging.

He also added, "I am working under a president who is willing to meet anyone... I am completely confident that if Khamenei says tomorrow that he wants to meet Trump, the president will meet him, not because he agrees with him, but because he believes this is the way to solve the problems in the world."

A second round in Geneva

This statement comes as both sides prepare for a second round of talks in Geneva next Tuesday.

It also follows revelations by two U.S. officials that the U.S. military is preparing for the possibility of conducting ongoing operations lasting weeks against Iran if Trump orders an attack, which could become a more serious conflict than previously witnessed between the two countries, according to Reuters.

The American president indicated yesterday that "the Iranians have been talking for years and years without doing anything."

He also considered that sometimes one must instill fear in the hearts of adversaries, referring to demonstrations of military might.

It is noteworthy that the U.S. president had clarified days ago that he gave Tehran about a month to reach an agreement regarding its program, otherwise "very bad things will happen."

Meanwhile, the White House confirmed that all options are on the table for the U.S. president to make his decision regarding Iran.

Alongside the nuclear issue, the U.S. administration seeks to resolve the matter of Iranian ballistic missiles, as well as Iranian-backed armed factions in the region.

However, Iranian authorities confirmed that negotiations are limited to the nuclear issue, emphasizing at the same time that the missile issue is a sovereign matter, non-negotiable.
