The Cabinet Directs Various Institutions Not to Deal with Israeli Procedures
SadaNews - The Cabinet emphasized its rejection of the decision by the Foreign Affairs and Security Committee of the Knesset, along with the recent decisions by the Israeli government, which represent additional illegal steps to prevent the establishment of the Palestinian state by all means; from accelerating settlement expansion to checkpoints and continuing to withhold tax revenues, among other Israeli actions aimed at imposing full sovereignty, directing various governmental and private institutions not to engage with these new Israeli procedures and to adhere to the applicable Palestinian laws and regulations.
The Cabinet also confirmed its rejection of any tampering with the historical status of Islamic and Christian holy sites, especially what was recently announced by the occupying authorities regarding the transfer of jurisdiction over the Ibrahimi Mosque from the Hebron municipality to the Israeli civil administration.
Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa stated at the beginning of the weekly Cabinet meeting today, Tuesday: "These policies and procedures violate international law, international resolutions, signed agreements, and also the international will that has expressed its positions on several occasions, the latest being the advisory opinion of the Court of Justice and the New York Declaration."
Mustafa stressed the clear Palestinian position that the decisions and actions of the occupying government will not deter us from holding on to our right to establish our Palestinian state, adding: "Under the leadership of President Mahmoud Abbas and his directives, we continue our contacts and efforts with all international parties alongside legal steps to pressure for the cessation of these dangerous actions and practices, reaching justice for our people and protecting their legitimate rights."
The Prime Minister praised the stance against these policies and decisions by the United Nations, the European Union, and the Arab and Islamic countries and various friendly nations, calling again for support for the Palestinian position that rejects recognition of these illegal Israeli decisions, and for intensifying their efforts and actions to implement international resolutions that protect our people and alleviate the historical injustice against them.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister reiterated his commitment to continue working with all available means to enhance the resilience of our people. He announced that tomorrow, over 300 infrastructure projects will be launched, specifically through the Ministry of Local Government and the Municipal Development and Lending Fund, benefiting 138 local authorities in various governorates of the West Bank, including projects dedicated to addressing the repercussions of the occupation's aggression in several locations and governorates.
Mustafa added: "We continue our programs and efforts in coordination with various international institutions to assist our people in the Gaza Strip while simultaneously expanding the face-to-face educational points in Gaza, which have exceeded 600 educational points, and completing the repair of water networks, removing rubble from vital sites, improving relief programs and health points, and working to send the wounded abroad for treatment."
The Prime Minister emphasized that the will and determination to work will not stop, and facing these illegal Israeli measures requires collective action and unity to thwart the occupation's judaization schemes and attempts to destroy our national project.
In light of the continued occupation's withholding of clearance revenues, the Ministry of Finance is working intensively on all levels to secure the disbursement of a salary installment at the beginning of next week, before the start of the holy month of Ramadan.
Additionally, the Cabinet discussed the observations of various governmental institutions on the draft law to reduce cash usage, as well as the observations from the private sector, and the council listened to a detailed presentation on the measures taken by various relevant parties in preparation for the approval of the law. After considering the comments of different entities, and in light of in-depth discussions, the council approved the draft law in final reading. Consequently, the draft law will be submitted to the President for issuance in accordance with procedures.
In the framework of the Ministry of Health's plan to localize medical services, the council approved the Ministry of Health's proposal to contract with specialist doctors in the fields of cardiac surgery, hematology, endocrinology, diagnostic radiology, and ophthalmology. It also approved the renewal of contracts with three engineers at the government computer center.
The council also approved a special program for purchasing and installing prosthetics for children with limb deficiencies in the southern governorates, in partnership with the Bayt Mal al-Quds Agency in the Kingdom of Morocco.
To ensure the continued provision of accommodation services for about two thousand individuals, including women, children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities residing in Ministry of Development centers, the council approved extending contracts for supplying foodstuffs for the benefit of shelter centers.
The council also approved facilitating procedures for temporary employment programs in the Gaza Strip implemented by the Ministry of Labor through the Employment Fund, including providing job opportunities for 100 additional individuals in the field of waste collection and management in Gaza in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program, in addition to eight other ongoing employment programs, providing around 3,000 temporary job opportunities.
Additionally, the council approved amending the official working hours for public sector employees during the month of Ramadan, to 25 hours per week at a rate of (5) hours daily from 9 AM to 2 PM.
The council also approved the draft e-commerce registry system in Palestine, which aims to organize this important sector, especially after the issuance of the e-commerce law.
