The Ministry of Finance Discusses the Reality and Prospects of Developing the Monitoring and Evaluation System to Enhance the Quality of Government Performance
SadaNews Economy - The Ministry of Finance and Planning, represented by the General Directorate of Monitoring and Evaluation, held a workshop entitled "The Reality and Prospects of Developing Monitoring and Evaluation in Government Institutions," with wide participation from members of the government monitoring and evaluation team from various ministries and official institutions.
The workshop was managed by Mahmoud Atayya, the rapporteur of the government monitoring and evaluation team for plans and strategies. This event comes within the framework of the institutional efforts led by the ministry to develop the monitoring and evaluation system and enhance its effectiveness across the government sector as a whole.
The workshop aimed to review the current reality of the monitoring and evaluation system, highlighting the gaps and challenges facing the team's work in various institutions. The attendees also discussed priority needs to come up with practical proposals that contribute to advancing this system nationally and institutionally.
The ministry emphasized that the outcomes of this workshop will serve to improve the quality of government performance and enhance results-based planning efficiency, ensuring optimal investment of available resources.
It is worth noting that this meeting is part of a strategic path led by the Ministry of Finance and Planning to establish a culture of monitoring and evaluation as a supportive tool for decision-making, enhancing the principles of accountability and transparency, and directing public resources towards developmental priorities that serve the Palestinian citizen.
