Organization of Islamic Cooperation Strongly Condemns the Occupation Cabinet's Legalization of Settlement
SadaNews - The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the occupation cabinet's move to legalize settlement and impose a new reality, considering this a serious escalation and a blatant violation of international law.
In a statement, the General Secretariat of the OIC expressed its absolute rejection and condemnation in the strongest terms of the occupation cabinet's approval of a series of decisions aimed at imposing a new reality through colonial settlement, and changing the legal status and position of the occupied Palestinian land, including the Holy City of Jerusalem.
The organization confirmed that Israeli colonial settlement policy constitutes a war crime and a blatant violation of international law and relevant United Nations resolutions, foremost among them Security Council Resolution 2334, in addition to the legal opinion issued by the International Court of Justice.
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation called on the international community, particularly the Security Council, to assume its responsibilities and take immediate and firm action to put an end to all crimes and violations committed by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people, their land, and their sacred sites.
