Kamala Harris Reactivates Her Campaign Account on Social Media
SadaNews - Former U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris reactivated her presidential campaign account on social media last Thursday evening, raising speculation about a potential new run for the White House.
The Democratic candidate, who lost the 2024 presidential election, stated in a video on her account on the platform X (formerly Twitter), which she renamed from "Kamala Headquarters" to "Headquarters_67"—a reference to the popular numbers 6 and 7 among Generation Z, "I am really excited about this!".
On TikTok, the account is simply known as "Headquarters".
The account had been inactive since November 5, 2024, when Donald Trump was declared the winner of the presidential election.
Harris added that the renewed account will provide information to young Americans and highlight "some of our great brave leaders," including elected officials and figures from civil society.
The 61-year-old Harris concluded her remarks by saying, "Stay in touch, and we will meet there."
Several polls have shown Harris leading the list of potential candidates for the 2028 Democratic nomination, ahead of California Governor Gavin Newsom and others.
Trump's camp launched an immediate attack on Harris following her announcement to return to social media.
The White House spokesperson, Abigail Jackson, mocked Harris in a post on X, saying, "Showing Kamala more is really what Democrats need."
Harris has been traveling around the U.S. for months promoting her book "107 Days," referencing the duration of her shortened 2024 presidential campaign after Joe Biden withdrew on July 21.
In this book, the first woman to hold the vice presidency in the nation's history takes stock of her experiences with her former boss Biden and his team.
Harris recently announced that her promotional tour would continue into 2026, which many commentators interpreted as a precursor to another presidential run.
