Israel Cuts Water and Electricity to UNRWA Offices in Occupied Jerusalem
SadaNews - Israeli Energy Minister Eli Cohen stated today, Wednesday, that he will personally supervise the cutting off of water and electricity to the offices of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) in Jerusalem.
Cohen said in press statements, "I am now on my way to East Jerusalem to witness for myself the cutting off of water and electricity to their offices."
The Israeli Knesset (parliament) decided at the end of 2025 to cut water and electricity to UNRWA's offices in occupied Jerusalem, after deciding in late 2024 to prevent the agency from operating in East Jerusalem and Israel.
Israel had forced UNRWA to evacuate its main headquarters in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of East Jerusalem in early 2025, before seizing the premises and beginning demolition operations there.
