Iraqchi: We Are Ready to Give Up Nuclear Weapons in Exchange for Lifting Sanctions
SadaNews - Amid rising tensions between Washington and Tehran, and the increasing U.S. military presence in the region, Iran has reiterated its willingness to engage in dialogue with the United States.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Iraqchi stated that his country is prepared to adopt an agreement that ensures it does not possess nuclear weapons while lifting sanctions.
He also added in a post on X today, Saturday, that Iran is ready to communicate with countries in the region to protect security and stability.
Moreover, Iraqchi, who visited Istanbul yesterday, Friday, confirmed that Tehran welcomes Turkish efforts aimed at achieving peace and stability in the region.
The Iranian minister believes that there is currently no serious groundwork for negotiations with the U.S. He stated in an interview with "CNN Turk" that Tehran prefers dialogue and diplomacy.
He emphasized the necessity of removing the atmosphere of threat and pressure before any genuine negotiations can take place.
