America Approves Sale of Patriot Missiles to Saudi Arabia and Weapons to Israel Worth Billions of Dollars
SadaNews - The U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) announced late Friday to Saturday that the U.S. Department of State has approved a potential sale of advanced missiles from the Patriot missile system and related equipment to Saudi Arabia, at an estimated cost of nine billion dollars.
It added in a statement that Lockheed Martin is the main contractor for this deal, while the U.S. State Department announced that Riyadh intends to purchase 730 missiles of this type from the United States.
It also announced the U.S. State Department's approval of potential military deals for Israel worth more than 6.5 billion dollars under three separate contracts.
The Pentagon said in two separate statements that the U.S. State Department has approved a potential sale of light tactical vehicles and related equipment at an estimated cost of 1.98 billion dollars, and another deal for the sale of Apache "AH-64E" helicopters worth 3.8 billion dollars.
A third military contract worth 740 million dollars was also granted. The main contractor in the first deal is "AM General," while Boeing and Lockheed Martin are the main contractors for the sale of Apache helicopters.
