Weitkov: Talks with Netanyahu Were Constructive and Positive
SadaNews - The U.S. Special Envoy, Steve Weitkov, stated on Sunday that the discussions he and fellow envoy Jared Kushner had with the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, regarding the second phase of the "peace plan" proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump for Gaza, were constructive. Meanwhile, the Al-Qassam Brigades announced that the occupation forces are searching for the body of another Israeli prisoner, based on information provided to the mediators.
Weitkov mentioned in a post on the "X" platform: "The United States and Israel have strong, long-standing relations built on close coordination and shared priorities, and the talks were constructive and positive."
He added that "the two sides agreed on the next steps and the importance of continuing cooperation on all vital issues for the region."
He noted that the talks were held yesterday, Saturday.
Washington had announced earlier this month that the plan has moved to the second phase, which is expected to pull more of Israel's forces out of Gaza and for Hamas to relinquish its control over the sector.
