A New Threat from Trump to Iran: We Will Strike Again

SadaNews - U.S. President Donald Trump expressed hope that there would be "no need for further action against Iran," following his threats to strike it and then later retracting his stance.

However, Trump threatened again to strike Iran "if it possessed nuclear weapons," during an interview with the U.S. news channel "CNBC."

In response to a question about the recent deployment of large U.S. military forces in the Middle East, he said, "We hope there will be no further actions" against Iran.

The U.S. president added, "But they are shooting people randomly in the streets," referring to linking his previous threats to the killing of thousands of protesters in the recent protests in Iran.

Trump stated that "what bothers him the most is the planned executions," explaining, "They have canceled them, and we hope that this is final."

When asked whether the situation in Iran should be monitored, Trump responded, "I think so."

He added, "We will find out what they will do with nuclear weapons. They cannot possess nuclear weapons. If they do, we will strike again. They continue their nuclear tests, and at some point, they will realize they cannot do that."

Earlier, Trump stated that he had backed down from ordering a strike on Iran after canceling executions that were scheduled for 837 protesters.

Later, the U.S. president warned that Iran "will be wiped off the face of the earth" if it succeeds in assassinating him.

In recent days, Iran and the United States exchanged threats of a wide-scale war if either of the leaders of the two countries were killed.

This comes amid protests that Tehran has accused Washington of inciting, and after Trump threatened military action if more protesters were killed.
