Saar calls on the European Union to classify the Revolutionary Guard as "terrorist"
SadaNews - Israeli Foreign Minister, Gideon Saar, called on the European Union to classify the Iranian Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization, in a joint statement with Czech Foreign Minister Peter Maier.
The Revolutionary Guard represents the backbone of the Iranian regime's domestic and regional influence and is a key focus in the international debate regarding Tehran's policies.
Israel accuses the Iranian Revolutionary Guard of spearheading regional activities against it and considers it the primary tool for implementing Iranian policy beyond its borders.
Speaking about the situation in Iran, Saar stated, "Behind the internet cuts, the repression of the Iranian people continues," accusing the regime of exercising severe violence against its citizens.
Saar added: "The Iranian regime is brutally slaughtering its people in its struggle for freedom. The Revolutionary Guard has spread terrorism and instability in the Middle East and beyond for decades. And now, they are leading the massacre of Iranian citizens."
