Qatar announces the appointment of Ali Al-Dawadi as its representative in the Executive Council of Gaza

SadaNews - The State of Qatar announced today, Sunday, the appointment of Ali Al-Dawadi, the advisor to the Prime Minister for Strategic Affairs, as its representative in the Executive Council of the Gaza Strip.

The International Media Office of the State of Qatar stated that "Qatar will continue to play an active role in efforts to achieve peace on a regional scale, including mediation between Hamas and Israel."

The office added in a statement that the appointment of Ali Al-Dawadi, the advisor to the Prime Minister for Strategic Affairs, as Qatar's representative in the Executive Council of Gaza aims to contribute to enhancing peace and stability for the residents of Gaza.

The office mentioned that Al-Dawadi had a prominent and influential role in mediation efforts and facilitating ongoing dialogue with Hamas and Israel. He also played a central role in Qatar's contribution to U.S. President Donald Trump's plan aimed at ending the war in Gaza.

The office confirmed that Al-Dawadi will continue his efforts to support the peace process on behalf of the State of Qatar through the Executive Council of Gaza.

The "Gaza Executive Council" includes U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff, Trump's son-in-law and former advisor Jared Kushner, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, in addition to: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Qatari diplomat Ali Al-Dawadi, Egyptian intelligence chief Hassan Rashad, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem Al-Hashimi, Bulgarian diplomat Nikolay Mladenov, former UN envoy to the Middle East, businessman Yakir Gabay, and Dutch politician Sigrid Kaag.

The Executive Council of Gaza is one of the items in a plan proposed by Trump, which is the basis for the ceasefire agreement currently in effect in Gaza since October 10 of last year.

It is worth noting that Trump's 20-point plan was adopted by the Security Council in its Resolution 2803 issued on November 17, 2025, clarifying that the second phase of the plan will be implemented through three entities: the Peace Council, a Palestinian technocrat committee, and an international stabilization force.

In total, the Israeli genocide war on the Gaza Strip over the past two years has resulted in more than 71,000 martyrs and more than 171,000 Palestinian injuries, most of whom are children and women, in addition to widespread destruction affecting about 90% of civil infrastructure.
