Gaza: 1244 Israeli Violations During the First Phase of the Ceasefire
SadaNews - The government media office in Gaza announced today, Thursday, as the second phase of the ceasefire agreement commenced, that the Israeli occupation committed a total of 1244 violations during the first phase of the agreement (from October 10, 2025, to January 15, 2026), resulting in the deaths of 449 martyrs and the injury of 1246 citizens, in addition to 50 cases of illegal detention.
The statement clarified that these violations included 402 incidents of direct gunfire against civilians, 66 incursions of military vehicles into residential areas, 581 incidents of shelling and targeting of citizens and their homes, and 195 cases of demolition and destruction of civilian institutions and buildings, in flagrant violation of the terms of the agreement and international humanitarian law.
The media office pointed out that the occupation continued its policy of restricting the entry of humanitarian aid, as only 24,611 trucks entered the Gaza Strip out of the 57,000 trucks scheduled, with a compliance rate not exceeding 43%, which exacerbated the severe shortage of food, medicine, water, and fuel. Additionally, only 601 fuel trucks entered out of 4,750 trucks, with a compliance rate not exceeding 12%, which left hospitals, bakeries, water stations, and sewage systems in a state of near paralysis.
Regarding the shelter sector, the statement confirmed that the occupation prevented the entry of mobile homes, caravans, and shelter materials, leading to the collapse of more than 50 houses and buildings affected by recent weather depressions, resulting in new casualties among the displaced, at a time when more than 127,000 tents went out of service, leaving over 1.5 million displaced individuals without safe shelter amid a severe cold wave.
The media office emphasized that the continuation of these violations represents "a serious circumvention of the ceasefire and an attempt to impose a humanitarian equation based on subjugation, starvation, and blackmail," holding the occupation fully responsible for the ongoing deterioration of the humanitarian situation.
The statement called on U.S. President Donald Trump, the sponsors of the agreement, mediators and guarantors, the international community, and the United Nations to fulfill their legal and moral responsibilities, enforce the occupation to fully comply with its obligations, ensure the protection of civilians, secure the immediate and safe flow of humanitarian aid and fuel, and allow the necessary shelter materials to address the escalating humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip.
