Poll: 56% of Americans View Washington's Foreign Intervention as Excessive
SadaNews - The results of a public opinion poll conducted in the United States show that 56 percent of respondents believe that President Donald Trump has "gone too far" in using the military to intervene in other countries.
The poll was conducted by the "Associated Press" in collaboration with the "NORC" Center for Public Affairs Research from January 8 to 11, involving 1,203 respondents, and included questions about Americans' views on their country's role in global issues.
According to the poll results, 35 percent of participants believe the level of American military intervention was "appropriate."
Seventy-one percent of Republicans stated that Trump is "on the right track" regarding the issue of intervening in other countries using the U.S. military, while 86 percent of Democrats do not support the President's approach to intervention in other countries.
Additionally, 53 percent of respondents expressed the belief that the United States' intervention in Venezuela, including the arrest of its President Nicolas Maduro, is a "positive development in terms of preventing illegal drug entry into the country."
Furthermore, 44 percent of participants viewed this development as "positive" for the Venezuelan people as well.
The percentage of participants who do not support Trump's handling of Venezuela reached 57 percent, while 61 percent disapprove of the overall approach taken by the American President in foreign policy.
