A Stormy Low Pressure System Claims the Lives of Four Citizens and Floods the Tents of Displaced Persons in Gaza
SadaNews - On a new tragic night, a deep low-pressure system hit the Gaza Strip accompanied by strong winds and heavy rains along with hailstones, resulting in the deaths of four martyrs, including three from the same family, in addition to two women and a child who lost their lives due to the collapse of parts of buildings and walls in various locations in Gaza City.
The fierce winds uprooted thousands of tents scattered in the displacement areas, while rainwater flooded many of them, leaving thousands of families exposed in the bitter cold amid worsening humanitarian conditions. In the vicinity of the chalets west of Gaza City, the wall of a building that housed displaced persons collapsed, resulting in more casualties and injuries, adding to the series of tragedies residents endure during the storm.
The scene in the sector grows harsher with the continued low-pressure system, as the suffering of displaced individuals persists who lack the most basic means of protection from the cold and storms, at a time when humanitarian calls escalate to save affected families and provide safe shelter to protect them from the harsh weather conditions.
