North Korea Accuses Its Southern Neighbor of Violating Its Sovereignty
SadaNews - North Korea claimed today (Saturday) that South Korea violated its sovereignty by sending a drone earlier this week and warned of countermeasures against this "provocation."
On January 4, the North Korean military detected an aerial target moving northward from the sky over Ganghwa County in Incheon, according to the Korean Central News Agency.
The agency stated that the North Korean military struck the drone with electronic warfare devices and forced it to fall 1,200 meters from Moksan-ri, a rural village on the outskirts of Kaesong, near the border between the Koreas.
The agency added, "The Republic of Korea is the most hostile enemy against us, and its nature cannot be changed; it will collapse if we attack."
For his part, South Korean Defense Minister An Kyo-bak denied today (Saturday) the involvement of the South Korean military in North Korea's allegations of violating its sovereignty with a drone in September and earlier this week.
Gyo-bak stated that the two drones in question are not operated by the South Korean military, asserting that "North Korea's claims are entirely false."
