"Dar' al-Watan" Controls Camps in Al-Mahra and Al-Zubaidi Heads to Riyadh
SadaNews - The local authority in Al-Mahra Governorate announced the success of "Dar' al-Watan" forces in taking over all camps, while the head of the Southern Transitional Council, Aidarus Al-Zubaidi, announced his intention to head to the Saudi capital Riyadh to lead an official delegation.
The media center of the "Dar' al-Watan" forces stated that the forces continued their military operations to defeat what they described as mercenaries and to pursue bandits and sabotage elements in the governorates of Hadhramaut and Al-Mahra in eastern Yemen.
Local sources indicated that life has begun to gradually return to normal in the city of Mukalla, the center of Hadhramaut, after two days following the withdrawal of the Transitional Council forces and the takeover of the city by "Dar' al-Watan", as many shops reopened and traffic gradually returned to the streets.
Hadhramaut Governor Salem Al-Khanbashi described the ousting of the Transitional Council from the governorate as a significant political success, emphasizing that the upcoming phase will focus on unifying local political components.
At the same time, the Southern Transitional Council welcomed Saudi Arabia's invitation for dialogue as an opportunity to discuss the future of the south and to safeguard its security and stability.
The Deputy Head of the Council Abdul Rahman Al-Mahrami met with Saudi Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman to discuss developments in Yemen and ways to enhance stability and security in the region.
The oil-rich Shabwa Governorate witnessed a commitment from the Arab coalition to protect stability in the governorate controlled by the Transitional Council, while the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on all southern components to participate in a conference organized by the Kingdom to find comprehensive and just solutions to the southern issue.
These developments came after widespread confrontations in the Hadhramaut and Al-Mahra governorates between the forces of the Transitional Council and the government forces backed by the legitimacy-supporting coalition, ending with government forces taking control of the two governorates after the Transitional Council had established its control over them in early December.
