Trump Administration Announces Freeze on Child Care Funding Due to Alleged Fraud Issues
SadaNews - The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump announced that it will freeze funds allocated for child care in all states until it conducts further verifications of the programs. This step comes after a series of alleged fraud schemes in daycare centers in Minnesota, which are managed by Somali residents over the past few years.
The acting director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Jim O'Neill, stated in a post on the social media platform "X" that this step is taken
in response to "outrageous fraud that appears to be rampant in Minnesota and across the nation."
He added: "We have turned off the funding tap and have begun tracking the fraud."
