The Martyrdom of Young Man Khitab Daraghma and the Injury of Another by Occupation Fire in Nablus
SadaNews - A Palestinian young man was martyred and another was injured early Thursday by Israeli occupation forces during gunfire that targeted a Palestinian vehicle near the village of Al-Lubban Al-Sharqiya, south of Nablus city, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.
Local sources reported that the occupation forces fired directly and intentionally at the vehicle, then imposed a security cordon and prevented access to the site.
The occupation forces arrested one of the injured and transferred him to an Israeli hospital without clarifying the nature of his injury, while they allowed Palestinian ambulance crews to transfer the second injured person to hospitals in Salfit.
The head of the village council of Al-Lubban Al-Sharqiya, Yaqub Awais, stated that two young men were injured by the occupation's fire while they were at the entrance of the town on the main road between Ramallah and Nablus, with one of them being described as in very critical condition and was transferred to a hospital in the territories of 1948.
He added that the second injured young man was transferred to Salfit Hospital after being shot four times while trying to rescue the first young man, and his condition is stable.
The Palestinian Red Crescent explained that the injured person, a 22-year-old young man, was shot in the back with live bullets and his condition was classified as "moderate," and he underwent surgery at Salfit Government Hospital.
Later, family sources reported the martyrdom of young man Khitab Muhammad Sarhan Daraghma (26 years old) due to his injuries, after the occupation forces arrested him and transferred him to the "Leban Plain" area before moving him to Israeli hospitals, without informing the family or authorities.
