73 Days into Ceasefire: 411 Martyrs in Gaza Amid 875 Violations of the Agreement

SadaNews - The Government Media Office in Gaza stated on Monday that the Israeli occupation has continued, since the ceasefire decision came into effect on October 10, 2025, until the evening of Sunday, December 21, 2025 (for 73 days), to commit serious and systematic violations of the agreement, which constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian law, and a deliberate undermining of the essence of the ceasefire and the terms of the attached humanitarian protocol.

During this period, the relevant government authorities monitored 875 violations of the agreement, as stated in the office's statement.

These violations included 265 direct gunfire incidents against civilians, 49 instances of military vehicles entering residential areas, 421 shelling and targeting incidents of unarmed citizens and their homes, and 150 incidents of demolition and destruction of homes, institutions, and civilian buildings.

These systematic violations resulted in the martyrdom of 411 citizens, the injury of 1,112 others, in addition to 45 instances of illegal arrests carried out by the Israeli occupation forces, according to the statement.

On the humanitarian front, the occupation continued to evade its commitments stated in the agreement and the humanitarian protocol, as it failed to adhere to the minimum agreed quantities of aid, with only 17,819 trucks entering the Gaza Strip during 73 days out of the 43,800 trucks supposed to be allowed, averaging only 244 trucks per day instead of the 600 trucks scheduled daily, which is a compliance rate of not exceeding 41%. This has led to a continued severe shortage of food, medicine, water, and fuel, exacerbating the depth of the catastrophic humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.

The fuel shipments that arrived in the Gaza Strip during the same period amounted to only 394 trucks out of 3,650 trucks supposed to be allowed, averaging 5 trucks daily instead of the 50 trucks designated according to the agreement, with a compliance rate of not exceeding 10%. This keeps hospitals, bakeries, and water and sewage stations in a state of near paralysis and doubles the suffering of the civilian population.

Regarding the shelter sector, the Government Media Office warned of the exacerbation of a deep and unprecedented humanitarian crisis, amid the Israeli occupation's insistence on closing the crossings and preventing the entry of tents, mobile homes, caravans, and shelter materials, in a blatant violation of the terms of the agreement and international humanitarian law.

These arbitrary policies, coinciding with recent weather lows that hit the Gaza Strip, led to the collapse of 46 homes and buildings that were previously damaged and bombed, resulting in 15 citizens being martyred as the buildings they sought refuge in collapsed over them after losing their original homes, amid the absence of any safe alternatives. The death of two children was also recorded due to the severe cold inside the displaced persons' tents, at a time when more than 125,000 tents have gone out of service and are no longer suitable to provide the minimum protection for over 1.5 million displaced persons.

This comes as the Gaza Strip approaches the "Arbaeen" period known for its severe cold, which threatens new deaths among the displaced if this deliberate neglect continues. Additionally, three citizens are still missing under the rubble of buildings that collapsed due to the weather low, which had previously been subjected to bombing by the occupation, in a scene that clearly embodies the extent of the humanitarian catastrophe and the inhumane policies of the occupation that deprive civilians of the most basic necessities of life.

The office affirmed that the continuation of these violations is a dangerous circumvention of the ceasefire and an attempt to impose a humanitarian equation based on subjection, starvation, and extortion. We hold the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the ongoing deterioration of the humanitarian situation, and for the lives that have been lost and the properties that have been destroyed during a period that should have been characterized by a complete and sustainable ceasefire.

We call on the international community, the United Nations, President Trump, the sponsors of the agreement, intermediaries, and guarantors to fulfill their legal and moral responsibilities, and to compel the Israeli occupation to fully implement its commitments without reduction, ensure the protection of civilians, secure the immediate and safe flow of humanitarian aid and fuel, and allow the entry of tents, mobile homes, caravans, and shelter materials, as stipulated in the agreement, in a way that enables tackling the worsening humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip.
