Russia: General of the Russian Army Killed in Car Explosion in Moscow

SadaNews - A General in the General Staff of the Russian Army was killed in a car explosion in southern Moscow this morning, Monday, as announced by the Investigative Committee, which indicated that it is investigating the possibility of Ukraine's involvement in the incident.

The committee stated in a statement that it has opened an investigation into the "murder" of the head of the operational training department in the General Staff, General Vanil Sarvarov.

It noted that one of the hypotheses being considered involves the involvement of "Ukrainian intelligence" in the incident.

Today, Monday, authorities in the Krasnodar region of Russia reported that damage was inflicted on two ships and two marine docks, in addition to a fire breaking out in a village on the Black Sea coast due to a Ukrainian attack with drones.

The command of operations in Krasnodar reported on the Telegram application that all crew members in the Volna port on the Black Sea were safely evacuated.

Authorities mentioned that the damage resulted in a fire spreading over an area of up to 1,500 square meters.

Ukraine has been launching repeated drone strikes on the Krasnodar region targeting oil refineries, fuel depots, ports, and airports.

The region overlooking the Black Sea is vital for Russian energy exports and military logistical supplies as it borders the Crimean Peninsula, but it is within the range of drone targeting from southern Ukraine.

The village of Volna is located near the Crimean Bridge that spans the Kerch Strait, which is a crucial artery for Russian forces as it connects the mainland to the Crimean Peninsula that Russia annexed from Ukraine in 2014.
