Israel's Army Reveals Details of Operation to Kidnap Hezbollah Activist
SadaNews - The Israeli army revealed on Friday that Unit 13 of the naval commandos carried out the "Behind the Back" operation in the town of Batroun in northern Lebanon, approximately 140 kilometers from the northern border, under the directive of the naval intelligence division. During this operation, they arrested Imad Amahz, one of the key elements in Hezbollah's secret naval dossier, and a member of the coastal missile unit (7900), and transported him for interrogation in Israel.
According to a statement from the Israeli army in Arabic and other languages, during his role in the coastal missile unit, Amahz received military training in Iran and Lebanon and gained extensive maritime experience and expertise aimed at conducting maritime operations.
It was also noted that he was trained at the Lebanese Civil Maritime Institute "Maresti," considering it another example of Hezbollah's exploitation of Lebanese civil institutions to develop its armed activities.
During the investigation, Amahz revealed that he held a central position in the "secret naval dossier" and provided sensitive intelligence information about this dossier, which is considered one of the most sensitive and secret projects within Hezbollah, focused on creating an organized infrastructure for maritime armed activities under a civil cover to target Israeli and international objectives, according to the claims of the Israeli army.
The statement said: The secret naval project is one of the most sensitive and secret projects in Hezbollah and was directly directed by Hassan Nasrallah, the former secretary-general, and Fouad Shukr, the prominent military leader of Hezbollah who were eliminated during the war, in addition to Ali Abdul Hassan Nour al-Din, the head of the secret naval dossier.
It added: Following the neutralization of the leadership level overseeing the secret naval dossier, along with the information provided by Amahz during his interrogation, the Israeli army was able to thwart the advancement of the secret naval dossier at a critical time, preventing its entrenchment and maturation within the party.
It continued: Hezbollah can work on the secret naval dossier and on other maritime units thanks to Iranian intellectual and material support, as instead of investing that massive amount of funds in building Lebanon and its institutions, this money is allocated to Hezbollah's activities, as he put it.
It concluded: The Israeli army will continue to operate on all fronts in various ways and means to eliminate threats against the citizens of the State of Israel, according to his statement.
