Death and 8 Injuries from Crowd Surge at Hashemite Square in Amman During Algeria vs Jordan Match
SadaNews - The spokesperson for the Jordanian Public Security Directorate stated that 9 people were rushed to the hospital early Tuesday after being injured during a crowd surge at Hashemite Square.
The spokesperson added that one of the injured sadly passed away and was transferred to forensic medicine to determine the cause of death, while the remaining injured received treatment and their conditions are stable to moderate.
The incident occurred following public gatherings at Hashemite Square in Amman to watch the national football team's match against the Algerian team as part of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
