The Commission and the Prisoners' Club: Marwan Barghouti's Condition is Stable and He is Fully Aware and Strong
SadaNews - After the lawyer of the imprisoned leader Marwan Barghouti was able to complete his visit yesterday, the Palestinian Prisoners' Club and the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs confirm that the recent phone call received by Barghouti's family from an unknown source, claiming he was subjected to a brutal assault inside his cell, falls under the category of psychological warfare and systematic terrorism, and it has been conclusively proven that these claims are false.
The Commission and the Club clarified that according to the lawyer's testimony, leader Barghouti attended the visit in a stable condition, fully aware and strong, despite his ongoing suffering from the effects of physical assaults he endured in recent months, and from harsh and oppressive detention conditions inside the cells, primarily the crime of starvation that looms over the reality of all detainees. The institutions indicated that since the beginning of the extermination war, Barghouti has been subjected to seven brutal assaults, resulting in several rib fractures, the last of which occurred on 15/9/2025, after a month had passed since the fascist minister "Ben Gvir" stormed Barghouti's cell and threatened him.
The Commission and the Club pointed out that the occupation's prison system has not ceased to target the masses of detainees, especially the leadership of the prisoner movement who have been in solitary confinement for more than two years, facing repeated and systematic brutal assaults, in a clear attempt to eliminate the leadership of the prisoner movement, alongside the escalation of slow execution operations against the detainees, and the occupation government raising the slogan of speeding up the approval of what is known as the law to execute prisoners.
They added that since the ceasefire agreement in October, and the occupation's refusal to release a group of leaders of the prisoner movement, including leader Barghouti, the occupation's intelligence and prison administration have begun to implement an organized psychological warfare, specifically targeting the leadership, manifesting in escalating humiliation and oppression tactics, renewing solitary confinement against a large number of them, alongside executing frequent assaults against them.
The Commission and the Club noted that the targeting operations against the leadership of the prisoner movement are particularly focused during their transfers between isolation sections, specifically between "Ganit - Nafha and previously Ramon" prison and the cells of "Megiddo" prison, carried out by the "Nahshon" forces, regarded as one of the most prominent repressive units responsible for conducting systematic assaults aimed at killing the detainees, whether during transfer operations from one prison to another, or even in the final hours before their release while being transported via what is known as the "bus vehicle".
In this context, the Commission of Detainees and the Prisoners' Club renewed their demands to the international system to take effective measures, including holding the occupation and its leaders accountable for the unprecedented systematic crimes they continue to commit, in the context of the extermination war and colonial erasure operations, including the extermination being committed against the detainees and the arrested individuals, through their perpetration of crimes that rise to the level of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
It is worth mentioning that the number of prisoners in Israeli occupation prisons has reached about 9,300.
