Civil Defense in Gaza Begins Recovering Bodies Amid Severe Equipment Shortage
SadaNews - The Civil Defense in Gaza announced the commencement of operations to search for the bodies of martyrs trapped under the rubble of destroyed homes in Gaza City, amidst difficult humanitarian conditions and a complete lack of equipment necessary for recovery operations.
The Civil Defense teams confirmed that they do not possess any heavy equipment to assist in lifting the debris, which forces them to use simple and primitive tools in the search operations, slowing their efforts to reach the bodies.
The Civil Defense clarified that it urgently needs at least 40 heavy vehicles to begin serious and effective recovery operations, emphasizing that the continued absence of this equipment exposes the bodies to decomposition and increases the suffering of families waiting to know the fate of their loved ones.
The Civil Defense called on the guarantors of the ceasefire agreement to exert pressure to allow the entry of the necessary heavy equipment, stressing that providing such equipment is an urgent humanitarian necessity to rescue what can be saved and recover the bodies from under the rubble.
