UN Adopts Resolution Requiring Israel to Facilitate Aid Entry into Gaza
SadaNews - The United Nations General Assembly adopted a new resolution on Friday evening, December 12, 2025, calling on Israel to fully comply with the International Court of Justice ruling that mandates the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip without delay or obstruction.
The resolution obliges Israeli authorities to provide food, water, medicine, and shelter to the residents of the strip, amid a severe deterioration of humanitarian conditions and the continued increasing needs of civilians.
The resolution also emphasized the necessity of not obstructing relief operations and allowing United Nations agencies and humanitarian organizations safe and continuous access to all areas of the strip, to ensure the delivery of vital aid to those in need.
This development comes amid increasing international pressure to ensure the protection of civilians and improve the flow of aid amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
In a separate context, foreign ministers of eight Arab and Islamic countries emphasized in a joint statement today that the role of 'UNRWA' is irreplaceable in protecting the rights of Palestinian refugees and providing them with essential care.
The statement underscored the pivotal importance of UNRWA in distributing humanitarian aid within the Gaza Strip, given the difficult conditions faced by the residents, noting that any assault on the agency's work endangers the lives of hundreds of thousands and undermines relief efforts.
