Mass Arrests... The West Bank Becomes a Chase Arena

SadaNews: Israeli occupation forces launched a wide campaign of arrests and raids at dawn today in several provinces in the West Bank, focusing particularly on the arrest of leaders and activists from the Hamas movement, coinciding with the approaching anniversary of the movement's launch.

Ramallah - Silwad

Occupation forces stormed the town of Silwad northeast of Ramallah and carried out extensive raiding operations within the town, which included the arrest of several citizens amidst heavy presence in the residential neighborhoods.

Jenin

In the town of Arraba southwest of Jenin, occupation forces arrested released prisoner Muhammad al-Aardah after storming his home, causing a state of tension in the town.

Jericho

Occupation forces also carried out a campaign of arrests in the city of Jericho and its refugee camps, where several released prisoners and prominent figures were known among the detainees, including: Jumah al-Samhouri, Saeed Moteir, Khaled al-Ra'i, Abdullah al-Hanawi, Ahmad Abu Riya, Sheikh Jamil Abu Riya, Khaled Barahma, Khaled Abu Jafar Abu Dahok, Ibrahim Keteifi, Mahmoud Jamal al-Samhouri, and Sheikh Noah al-Zaghari.

Nablus

In the city of Nablus, occupation forces arrested former minister and released prisoner Nasr al-Din al-Shahr after storming his home, as part of a wide campaign that included several neighborhoods in the city. The raids resulted in the arrest of dozens of citizens, including academics and religious and social figures, in addition to several released prisoners.

The initial list of detainees in Nablus included prominent names such as: Nasr al-Din Kharaz, Hassan Taffaha, Mousa Madfa, Hassan al-Safadi, Hamid Al-Amoudi, Amjad al-Sayeh, Sidqi al-Aqqad, Zahi al-Koussah, Abdul Rahim Bishkar, Baraa Dweikat, Saeed Bilal, Khidr al-Sarkaji, Wajdi al-Qutub, Amjad al-Qutub, Abdul Rahman Akoubah, Muath Ashour, Ahmad Abu Sultan, and Tahr Kharaz, in addition to academic figures such as Dr. Ghassan Badran and Dr. Nidal Abu Rumaila, along with Sheikh Khaled Marwah Dweikat and several members of his family.

Bethlehem

A security source reported that occupation forces stormed the town of Tequ'a southeast of Bethlehem and arrested Khalil Imad Khalil al-Amour (30 years) after raiding and searching his home.

Tulkarem

Occupation forces also arrested a citizen from the city of Tulkarem at dawn today.

Local sources stated that occupation forces arrested released prisoner Qussam Riyad Muhammad Bdeir (36 years), after storming his home in the suburb of Irtah south of the city.
