Martyr and Two Injuries from Occupation Fire Near Izun East of Qalqilya
SadaNews A citizen was martyred and two others were injured, one of them critically, this evening, Sunday, from fire by the Israeli occupation forces near the town of Izun east of Qalqilya.
Local sources reported that the occupation soldiers stationed at the main (northern) entrance of the town of Izun opened live fire towards a vehicle that was driving along the Qalqilya-Nablus road, resulting in the martyrdom of a citizen and the injury of two others.
For its part, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society stated that the occupation forces prevented its crews from reaching the vehicle for some time before allowing them to attend to the injured.
The society added that the occupation soldiers later forced the crews to leave the area and detained the body of the martyr and the injured, confirming that one of the injuries was critical.
Following the shooting at the vehicle, the occupation forces closed the iron gate at the main entrance of the village of Nabi Elias east of Qalqilya leading to the town of Izun, disrupting the movement of citizens, while soldiers spread at the entrance of "Izbat al-Tabeeb" nearby.
