Report: Lebanon Missed the Opportunity to Disarm Hezbollah as Iran Injects Millions to Rehabilitate It
SadaNews: The Hebrew site "Walla" revealed, citing officials from the Israeli military intelligence (Aman), that the new government in Lebanon wasted the opportunity that arose after the last war, which Israel considered an achievement in the path of disarming Hezbollah.
The report clarified that the Iranian regime has pumped hundreds of millions of dollars in various ways to rehabilitate Hezbollah's military capabilities, including treating the wounded and disabled, supporting training and rehabilitation, as well as paying salaries to the party's operatives and the families of its fallen members.
Officials indicated that Hezbollah has succeeded in infiltrating the Lebanese army and planting elements within it, influencing official policies, and pressuring the new government, which has disappointed the West.
They added that the Lebanese army is effectively unable to impose its authority over the party, as its elements continue to operate in the field despite Israeli airstrikes that have claimed the lives of more than 350 operatives.
According to the report, Hezbollah is determined to rebuild its military strength through two main avenues: first: smuggling weapons, including various missiles, anti-tank missiles, and parts of drones damaged in the recent confrontations.
Second: establishing underground facilities, new sites, bases, and locations, and transferring operations to underground installations.
The report also confirmed that the party is still capable of executing infiltration attempts through the "Radwan Force," particularly on the western front, which prompts the Israeli army to prepare to bolster its forces near the borders and in the northern towns in anticipation of any escalation.
