Sources to SadaNews: Hamas Appointed New Leaders for Security Agencies in Gaza
Exclusive to SadaNews - Informed Palestinian sources revealed to "SadaNews" that Hamas has recently appointed new leaders for its security agencies following the Israeli occupation's assassination of its previous leaders during the two-year war, which focused on killing government officials akin to the assassinations of political and military leaders.
According to the sources for "SadaNews", there were some figures tasked with operating the security and police agencies in Hamas's government in Gaza during the previous periods before the ceasefire came into force. However, after two weeks of the ceasefire and confirming its durability, the movement began taking measures to appoint new leaders for the security agencies.
The sources indicated that this included the appointment of temporary governors for the sectors to follow up on government operations, while no head for the governmental committee managing government work in the sector has been appointed yet due to at least two figures declining the position.
The sources pointed out that Hamas sees the delay in moving to the second phase and forming a technocratic committee as a reason pushing it to take such temporary measures. The sources stated.
Recently, Hamas denied that it had appointed officials to replace its lost leadership at the political and military levels and the Shura Council.
The sources say that the government appointments for the leaders of the security agencies and governors have taken on an executive nature officially in the past week.
