Ukrainian Delegation to America This Weekend to Discuss Plan to End the War
SadaNews - Ukrainian negotiators will visit the United States this weekend for talks on Washington's plan to end the war in Ukraine, according to a senior official familiar with the matter, as reported by the French Press Agency.
The source, speaking on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the issue, said: "The delegation is planning to meet with the U.S. side at the end of this weekend," noting that discussions may take place in Florida.
Bloomberg reported, citing a knowledgeable source, that the Ukrainian delegation, which includes senior Ukrainian security official Rustem Umerov and the First Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Kislytsia, is expected to meet with U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, in Florida.
Andriy Yermak, head of the office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, was scheduled to participate in the talks but resigned on Friday.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Friday the resignation of Yermak after investigators searched the influential official's home as part of a corruption investigation.
Zelensky had previously indicated that talks between Ukrainian and U.S. officials regarding proposals to end the war with Russia would take place soon.
In his video address, Zelensky clarified that senior Ukrainian officials from the military, foreign ministry, and intelligence would participate in the discussions aimed at ending the conflict, which is approaching its fourth year.
