Israel Develops Several Scenarios for Hezbollah's Response Following the Assassination of Al-Tabtabaei

SadaNews - The Israeli Army Radio reported that military assessments indicate that there are several potential options for Hezbollah's response to the assassination of its prominent military leader Haytham Al-Tabtabaei in an Israeli airstrike.

According to the same source, the response options include launching a barrage of rockets into the heart of Israel.

Additionally, it includes attempts to infiltrate into Israeli territory or to military sites in southern Lebanon.

The assessments also pointed to the Houthis mobilizing an operational plan against Israel, as Al-Tabtabaei was very close to the Houthis.

Israeli assessments do not rule out Hezbollah choosing not to respond to Al-Tabtabaei's killing.

Israel Launches "Defense and Strength" Exercise... Heightened Readiness on the Lebanese Border

The Israeli army announced, on Monday, the launch of the "Defense and Strength" exercise over the next two days, aimed at testing and improving the Israeli army's readiness for various scenarios.

The army added: "Under the supervision of the Chief of Staff, Major General Eyal Zamir, the exercise began with testing the readiness of the 210th Division for any sudden emergencies. Additionally, there will be training on assessing the situation and making decisions at all levels, and activating preparedness and managing forces in the theater of war."

It continued: "During the exercise, there will be noticeable movement of forces in the Golan Heights, valleys, and Mount Dov, with sounds of explosions expected in the area, and the movement of aircraft will be felt in the region."

The newspaper "Jerusalem Post" reported that "simultaneously with the drills, the Israeli army raised the alert level of its forces on the border with Lebanon due to concerns that Hezbollah might exploit the winter weather and reduced visibility caused by fog and heavy rain to carry out an attack," in response to the assassination of the prominent military leader of the party, Haytham Al-Tabtabaei, in an Israeli airstrike.

The newspaper "Times of Israel" also quoted military sources saying that the Israeli Air Force has reinforced its air defenses in the north in anticipation of potential rocket launches from Hezbollah in Lebanon.

According to the newspaper, the army currently has no specific information indicating that Hezbollah is planning to launch a missile attack.
