Document Reveals: Israel on the Path to Executing Palestinian Prisoners via Lethal Injection

SadaNews translation - A document outlining the principles of the bill for the death penalty for Palestinian prisoners has revealed the main provisions of the amendments made to the bill, which was approved over a week ago by a majority in the first reading in the Knesset plenary.

The amendments were submitted in preparation for the vote on the second and third readings.

The document states, as translated by SadaNews, that anyone who kills a Jew solely for being Jewish, whether the executor or those who planned or sent, will face the death penalty without any consideration by the judges for the circumstances.

The decision will be made by a simple majority of the judges and not by consensus, and the prisoners will not be able to appeal the type of punishment or obtain a plea deal or amnesty.

The sentence will be carried out within 90 days of the issuance of the ruling.

Executions will be carried out by the Israeli Prison Service through lethal injection.

The channel noted that the manner of publishing and drafting the law reveals that the main goal of its publication was for electoral purposes by members of the Jewish Power Party led by Itamar Ben Gvir, and that its chances of passing, especially before the Supreme Court in its current version, are slim.
