Mustafa Holds Talks with His Jordanian Counterpart on Issues of Common Interest

SadaNews - Prime Minister Muhammad Mustafa held a meeting today, Tuesday, with Jordanian Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan at the Prime Minister's headquarters in the Jordanian capital, Amman, to discuss issues of common interest, the continuity of coordination and consultations between the two countries, and to emphasize the depth of the fraternal relations that bind the two countries and their peoples, under the patronage and interest of President Mahmoud Abbas and His Majesty King Abdullah II.

The talks confirmed the need to build on the momentum of international recognition of the Palestinian state, the UN Security Council resolution according to the plan of US President Donald Trump, ensuring the enforcement of a ceasefire in Gaza, and creating suitable conditions for launching a political path that achieves just and comprehensive peace according to the two-state solution.

Mustafa praised Jordan's positions, led by King Abdullah II, supporting the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people, which reflect the depth of the ties that bind Jordan and Palestine.

The Prime Minister outlined the developments in the Palestinian territories, the efforts made to secure a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, halt ongoing assaults in the West Bank, and the economic, social, and security obstacles imposed by Israel on the steadfast Palestinian people on their land.

Mustafa also reviewed the implementation progress of government developmental initiatives, the program for institutional reform and development, in addition to the executive plan for recovery and reconstruction in the Gaza Strip.

For his part, the Jordanian Prime Minister emphasized that Jordan's positions remain unchanged in achieving the aspirations of the Palestinian people to end injustice and occupation, obtain their legitimate rights, and establish their independent state on their national soil, stressing that Palestine occupies a special place in the hearts of Jordanians, notably His Majesty the King, who has spared no effort in defending the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people in all regional and international forums, which has resulted in a series of international recognitions of the Palestinian state.

Hassan added: "We will continue to send humanitarian and relief assistance and medical support to our Palestinian brothers in Gaza through field hospitals and the 'Restore Hope Initiative', and the treatment of wounded children and those suffering from cancer."

The Prime Minister affirmed Jordan's support for the reform efforts led by the Palestinian National Authority, as well as supporting the steadfastness of the Palestinian people on their land as a top priority for restoring their legitimate rights and establishing their independent state on their national soil, exerting all possible political, diplomatic, and humanitarian efforts in this regard.

The meeting discussed ways to enhance economic cooperation between the two sides, particularly in the commercial, industrial, agricultural, and energy sectors.

In this context, the importance of forming joint ministerial committees and holding forums for businessmen from both countries to enhance cooperation and establish partnerships was agreed upon, in addition to reinforcing the role of the Jordanian-Palestinian company to market agricultural products, removing all obstacles to facilitate the movement of travelers and goods across the bridges, and providing technical assistance to Palestine in the fields of information technology, digitization, and legislation related to e-commerce.

In attendance at the talks from the Jordanian side were Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply Eng. Ya'rob Al-Qudat, Minister of State for Economic Affairs Muhannad Shehada, and Minister of State for Prime Ministry Affairs Abdul Latif Al-Najdawi, while from the Palestinian side, Minister of National Economy Muhammad Al-Amour was present.
