Health Minister Announces Start of Children's Vaccination Campaign in Gaza Strip
SadaNews - Health Minister Majed Abu Ramadan announced the start of the children's vaccination campaign in the Gaza Strip, beginning Sunday morning, in order to strengthen the national program for vaccinating children under the age of three and to ensure they receive the essential doses according to the approved national schedule.
Abu Ramadan confirmed that the ministry, despite the difficult humanitarian conditions in the region, continues to fulfill its duty to protect the children of Palestine and to maintain their health and safety, calling on everyone to fully cooperate with the health teams to ensure the success of the campaign and achieve its goals.
The Health Minister stated in a statement that the campaign is implemented under the supervision and follow-up of the Ministry of Health, in partnership with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, and with support from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the World Health Organization, through 150 health centers affiliated with the Ministry of Health, UNRWA, and the Red Crescent, in addition to local and international organizations operating in the governorates of the Strip.
He added that the campaign will last for ten days, in three phases, separated by a month, to ensure that all children who missed receiving the essential vaccinations during the past period are reached.
He urged citizens in the Gaza Strip to ensure they take their children to the approved vaccination centers to complete their doses, emphasizing that vaccination is the first and most important line of defense to protect our children's lives from serious diseases and epidemics.
The ministry clarified that this campaign comes as a continuation of previous children's vaccination campaigns carried out by the Ministry of Health in cooperation with partners, including vaccination campaigns against poliomyelitis, in addition to the national campaign implemented by the ministry to vaccinate children present on Egyptian territory, in cooperation with the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population, which provided full support and facilitation for the success of the campaign, and the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Cairo.
