Hamas Denies Connection to Rafah Attack and Affirms Commitment to Ceasefire
SadaNews - Hamas denied its connection to the shooting incident against Israeli forces in Rafah on Tuesday evening, asserting its commitment to the ceasefire agreement.
Israeli sources had reported the death of an Israeli soldier in the shooting that occurred in Rafah.
The movement stated in a statement that "the criminal bombardment carried out by the fascist occupation army on areas of the Gaza Strip constitutes a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement that was signed in Sharm El-Sheikh under the auspices of U.S. President Trump."
It added, "This terrorist attack is an extension of a series of violations that have been committed over the past few days, resulting in deaths and injuries, and the continued closure of the Rafah crossing, which reaffirms the determination to violate the terms of the agreement and attempt to sabotage it," according to its statement.
Hamas called on the mediators guaranteeing the agreement to take immediate action to pressure the occupation, curb its brutal escalation against civilians in the Gaza Strip, halt its serious violations of the ceasefire agreement, and compel it to adhere to all its terms, as stated in its statement.
