Reports of an Israeli soldier killed in a security incident in Rafah and injuries from shelling and gunfire in the Gaza Strip
Translation and follow-up by SadaNews - Israeli sources reported on Tuesday evening that an Israeli soldier was shot by armed elements affiliated with Hamas in the city of Rafah, southern Gaza Strip.
According to settler platforms, as translated by SadaNews, the soldier was killed, while others reported that he was critically injured and transported for treatment.
Meanwhile, Channel 12 in Hebrew stated that armed elements from Hamas emerged from an opening of one of the tunnels within the city of Rafah and opened fire towards the soldiers, resulting in the injury of the soldier.
Immediately following the incident, the Israeli artillery fired numerous shells in Rafah and Khan Younis, amid intense aerial activity from warplanes.
Israeli vehicles opened fire towards a group of Palestinians in the Zeitoun neighborhood south of Gaza City, resulting in two injuries, one of which was reported to be in serious condition.
