49 Female Detainees Facing Organized Crimes in Occupation Prisons
SadaNews: The Prisoners' Club reported that the Israeli occupation authorities continue to detain 49 Palestinian women, including two children and a female prisoner from Gaza, who are facing organized and systematic crimes within the occupation prisons and interrogation centers.
In a statement issued today, Sunday, on the occasion of the Palestinian Women's National Day, which falls on the 26th of October each year, it was clarified that the pace of these crimes has escalated at an unprecedented rate since the outbreak of the war of extermination, which represented the bloodiest phase in the history of the Palestinian people, and its consequences continue to leave a harsh imprint on the reality of female prisoners.
The Prisoners' Club added that the phase following the war of extermination has imposed radical changes on the conditions of female prisoners, accompanied by a series of crimes perpetrated by the Israeli oppression system, the most prominent of which include: torture, starvation, deliberate medical neglect, and sexual assaults – particularly strip searches and harassment that the institution documented in several instances carried out by female guards – along with psychological terror, such as threats of rape, systematic repression, and repeated incursions that include beatings and humiliation, forcing female prisoners to kneel while handcuffed, along with insults that tarnish human dignity.
These violations also encompass methods of psychological torture practiced from the very first moments of detention, according to testimonies from the female prisoners.
