Egypt's Foreign Minister Emphasizes the Importance of Full Implementation of the Gaza Agreement
SadaNews - Egyptian Foreign and Emigration Minister Badr Abdel Atti highlighted the importance of the full implementation of the terms of the Gaza Agreement.
This came during Minister Abdel Atti's meeting with Romanian Foreign Minister Oana Tsuiou, on the sidelines of the Egyptian Foreign Minister's participation in the Egypt-European Union summit held in the Belgian capital, Brussels, according to a statement from the Foreign Ministry today (Saturday).
According to the statement, both sides reviewed the course of bilateral relations between Egypt and Romania, confirming their mutual commitment to developing bilateral cooperation in various fields, including trade, investment, education, and culture.
Minister Abdel Atti emphasized Egypt's aspiration to elevate the relations between the two countries to the level of a comprehensive partnership, noting the promising opportunities offered by the Egyptian market for Romanian companies, and the pivotal role Romania can play in supporting the enhancement of relations between Egypt and the European Union, especially with the upcoming celebration of the 120th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The meeting also addressed the latest regional developments, primarily the Palestinian issue, where Minister Abdel Atti reviewed the outcomes of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit, and the subsequent efforts to implement the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip according to the American president's plan, emphasizing the importance of the full implementation of the agreement's terms to ensure the consolidation of the ceasefire, halt aggression, and initiate the reconstruction process.
In this context, he referred to the ongoing preparations for holding the international conference on early recovery, reconstruction, and development in Cairo next month, confirming Egypt's anticipation of an effective participation from European countries, including Romania, in supporting reconstruction efforts in Gaza and enhancing stability in the region.
The Romanian Foreign Minister expressed her country's appreciation for Egypt's pivotal role in supporting regional security and stability, praising the outcomes of the Egypt-European Union summit and the consensus achieved regarding the enhancement of the strategic partnership between the two sides.
She confirmed Romania's keenness to continue coordination with Egypt on various bilateral and regional files of mutual interest.
