Rubio: No Alternative Plan to Trump's Gaza Plan and We are Working to Ensure its Success

SadaNews - U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that there is no alternative plan to President Donald Trump's peace plan for Gaza, reaffirming Washington's commitment to implementing its provisions.

Rubio added during his visit to the Civil-Military Coordination Center in Tel Aviv, "We take pride in the early days of implementing the ceasefire plan, and the progress we've made in 12 days in Gaza is historic."

He emphasized that the long-term goal lies in reconstruction.

He also stressed the need to deploy international stabilization forces in Gaza as soon as possible, noting that this force requires a UN mandate.

Rubio believed that Israel should approve the countries that will participate in the international stabilization force, clarifying that the force has not yet been formed and that there are countries willing to participate.

While affirming that things are moving in the right direction regarding the Gaza agreement, he pointed to the necessity of ensuring the durability of the ceasefire before reconstruction.

Regarding the hostages, Rubio assured that he would not forget the file, explaining that the U.S. is working towards the return of all remains.

The U.S. Secretary of State also expected Hamas to fully disarm, which the movement has agreed to.

He noted that Hamas's refusal to disarm would be a violation of the agreement, emphasizing that war would return if the movement armed itself.

Rubio added that there would be no peace if any organization attempted to attack Israel from Gaza, stressing that there is no role for Hamas in the future of the sector.

Additionally, Rubio announced that the U.S. is working to ensure that Gaza does not pose a threat to Israel, affirming that Washington is committed to Israel's security and the success of the peace plan.

The West Bank

Rubio considered the Knesset's vote on annexing the West Bank to be an attempt to embarrass Netanyahu.

He expressed disbelief that Israel would impose its sovereignty over the West Bank.

Rubio confirmed that annexation will not be achieved as it threatens the Gaza agreement.

Gaza and Aid

Regarding aid, the U.S. Secretary of State viewed that UNRWA has become a branch of Hamas.

He confirmed that the United Nations is present in Gaza to coordinate aid, pointing out that what has been achieved in Gaza over the past days is historic and unprecedented, according to his expression.

Rubio announced his country's commitment to implementing all provisions of the Gaza agreement, stressing that Trump's plan for Gaza is long-term.

The Second Phase

It should be noted that the first phase of the Gaza plan proposed by Trump, which entered into force on October 10, is still fragile, especially after the Israeli incursions witnessed a few days ago, amid intensive American efforts to stabilize it and move to the second phase.

The second phase involves reconstructing the devastated Palestinian sector, as well as disarming it.

Meanwhile, Rubio's visit focuses on the composition of the transitional government for the sector as envisioned in the peace plan proposed by Trump. It is scheduled for Palestinian technocrats in Gaza to work under the supervision of an international committee, the structure and names of which are still under discussion, according to the newspaper "Israel Hayom."
