Journalists' Syndicate: "Israeli Supreme Court" is Complicit in Preventing Foreign Journalists from Entering Gaza

SadaNews - The Palestinian Journalists' Syndicate condemned today, Thursday, the decision of the "Israeli Supreme Court" to extend the time for the Israeli government to respond to the petition of the Foreign Press Association in Jerusalem requesting the entry of foreign journalists into Gaza.

The Syndicate considered in a statement issued that "this decision is a delay tactic by the court itself and that it is complicit with the Israeli government and Israeli security agencies in preventing journalists from entering the Gaza Strip, noting that the Israeli Supreme Court grants the Israeli government time throughout the two-year war on Gaza to prevent foreign press from entering Gaza."

The Syndicate renewed its demand for all international institutions and foreign governments to pressure the occupation government to allow journalists immediate entry into Gaza. It also called on UNESCO and all institutions related to human rights, press freedom, and freedom of opinion and expression to consider the occupying state as the largest violator of press freedom in the world, urging them to take serious steps against the occupying state for preventing thousands of journalists who reached Jerusalem from entering Gaza, as well as the thousands of other journalists who have continually tried to enter Gaza, but the occupation authorities have prevented them all to ensure they do not witness the truth of the war crimes being committed and the acts of genocide against our Palestinian people in Gaza, as well as the media extermination crimes faced by Palestinian journalists and media institutions, in a precedent that is the first of its kind in the history of humanity and the history of media in the world.
