Rubio on His Way to Israel, Which Fears Trump’s Vice President’s Decisions and Hamas’s Strengthening of Its Rule in the Strip
SadaNews Translation - The Hebrew channel Reshet Kan reported tonight, Wednesday, that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will arrive in Israel tomorrow to join the delegation of senior officials present in Tel Aviv.
According to the channel, Rubio is expected to remain in Israel until next Saturday, while US Vice President JD Vance will leave tomorrow, Thursday.
According to the channel, as translated by SadaNews, the Israeli security establishment fears that the US Vice President's desire to achieve results after his visit to Israel will lead him to make decisions that the field conditions do not allow to be implemented yet.
Israel feels that there are major issues still pending, such as the return of all the deceased hostages and disarming Hamas, which in turn would lead to the entry of foreign forces into Gaza, as Israel refuses to allow Turkish presence in the strip, followed by the establishment of a technocratic government and the opening of the Rafah crossing.
In this context, the channel quoted Israeli sources saying that mediators conveyed a negative message regarding the possibility of Hamas delivering the bodies to them this evening.
They estimate in Israel that Hamas might be able to deliver the bodies of hostages tonight.
It noted that at the same time there is a struggle between Israel and Egypt not only regarding the next phase of the agreement but also about the current phase.
It indicated that while the Egyptians are requesting the opening of the Rafah crossing in their meetings, it is clear that Israel rejects this under the direction of the political level, as the bodies have not all been returned.
Meanwhile, Channel 13 reported, as translated by SadaNews, that Israeli security agencies issued a warning to the political level that Hamas is solidifying its rule in many aspects within the Gaza Strip.
According to the channel, Hamas is providing municipal services to the population, collecting taxes from merchants, and enforcing law and order in the strip, meaning that it has effectively returned to power.
The security agencies recommended advancing as quickly as possible to the second phase of Trump’s plan, which is currently suffering from gaps and disagreements, especially since these gaps allow Hamas to re-establish itself once again, they say.
