Israeli Attorney General Recommends Indictment Against Tzachi Hanegbi
SadaNews - The Deputy Attorney General of the Israeli government has recommended filing an indictment against Tzachi Hanegbi, the outgoing National Security Council Chairman. According to suspicions, Hanegbi received 10,000 shekels in 2017 in exchange for promoting the interests of businessmen. At the same time, the police believe there is a sufficient body of evidence against Hanegbi.
The Israeli Attorney General responded by stating: "We do not comment on internal discussions, and this does not constitute a confirmation or denial of any matter."
Earlier last night, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dismissed National Security Council Chairman Tzachi Hanegbi after he objected to the attack in Qatar. In a message he published, Hanegbi wrote: "Prime Minister Netanyahu informed me today of his intention to appoint a new chairman of the National Security Council. Accordingly, my term as National Security Advisor and Chairman of the National Security Council will end today. I will, of course, be at the service of my successor whenever necessary."
He wrote: "The grave failure on October 7, which I also bear some responsibility for, must be thoroughly investigated to ensure the appropriate lessons are learned and to help restore the damaged trust. The many achievements in both the military and political campaign must be maintained and strengthened."
