Qatari Emir: It is Time to Put an End to the Israeli Occupation
SadaNews - The Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, stated that what is happening in the Gaza Strip is genocide and it is unfortunate that international legitimacy is powerless to enforce its respect when it comes to the tragedy of the Palestinians.
He affirmed - in his speech during the opening session of the Qatari Shura Council - Qatar's condemnation of the violations and practices committed by Israel in Gaza, its continued breach of the ceasefire, and its expansion of settlements in the West Bank and its efforts to Judaize the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Emir of the State of Qatar also stressed that the international community must provide protection for the Palestinian people and ensure that perpetrators of genocide do not escape accountability, emphasizing that the Gaza Strip is an integral part of the unified Palestinian state.
Sheikh Tamim noted that Qatar has faced violations of its sovereignty by Iran and Israel, yet it emerged from both attacks stronger and more resilient.
He added that Qatar is making commendable efforts in mediation and humanitarian work, which have enhanced its position and resilience, stressing that Israel has exceeded all laws and international norms with its aggression against a state that is acting as a mediator.
The Emir of the State of Qatar said, "We consider the Israeli aggression as state terrorism, and the global response was so strong that it shocked those who perpetrated it," adding that the words of Security Council members and the summit conference of Arab and Islamic nations highlighted the status that Qatar enjoys.
