EU: Imposing Sanctions on Israel is on the Table
SadaNews - European Union foreign policy chief, Kaia Kalas, stated today (Monday) that the idea of imposing sanctions on Israel "is still on the table."
Since the beginning of June, the Netherlands and previously Sweden have requested the Commission to investigate whether Israel is respecting the second article of the European partnership agreement which came into force in 2000.
The second article stipulates that both parties must respect human rights and democratic principles. On the 23rd of the same month,
Kalas confirmed in her report that Israel "is violating its obligations regarding human rights (in Gaza) as stipulated in the second article of the partnership agreement."
