Sisi Calls for Giving International Legitimacy to Gaza Agreement
SadaNews - Amid the mediation efforts made by Egypt days ago to push for a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi emphasized the necessity of granting international legitimacy to this agreement through the Security Council.
Sisi stressed, during a phone call with Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides on Saturday, the importance of deploying international forces in the Gaza Strip, according to Mohamed Shennawy, the official spokesperson for the Egyptian presidency.
He also highlighted the importance of "releasing prisoners and detainees, ensuring the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza, and commencing the process of reconstruction in the region."
Additionally, the Egyptian president invited his Cypriot counterpart to attend the "celebration that will be held in Egypt to mark the conclusion of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza."
