"Awqaf": The occupation stormed Al-Aqsa 26 times and prevented the call to prayer at the Ibrahimi Mosque 92 times last month

SadaNews - The Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs stated in its monthly report that the Israeli occupation has escalated its violations against Islamic and Christian holy sites during the month of September, notably Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Ibrahimi Sacred Mosque.

The report noted a significant increase in the incursions of settlers into Al-Aqsa Mosque and the prevention of the call to prayer at the Ibrahimi Mosque.

The occupation has also seized the courtyard of the Ibrahimi Mosque through ownership in preparation for its roofing and control to allow settlers to conduct their Talmudic prayers inside it, in a step that is the most dangerous towards the mosque since the Israeli occupation in 1967.

The "Awqaf" mentioned that Al-Aqsa Mosque was subjected to more than 26 incursions by settlers under heavy protection from the occupation forces, coinciding with Jewish holidays, including rabbis, children, and youths.

Large numbers of settlers performed Talmudic prayers and blew the shofar in the area of the Buraq Wall adjacent to Al-Aqsa Mosque, while the occupation forces intensified their measures at the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque. They also arrested the preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Mohammed Sarandah, and dragged him towards the Mughrabi Gate after he gave the Friday sermon at Al-Aqsa, and interrogated him.

The report indicated the storming of groups of settlers into Al-Aqsa Mosque on the occasion of what is called "Rosh Hashanah," led by rabbis in their white religious garments associated with the rituals of the "alleged temple," where they performed collective and individual prayers and organized dance and song circles, amid strict restrictions imposed by the occupation forces on the entry of worshippers, alongside calls for more festive incursions.

"Temple" groups organized a tour for settlers around the gates of Al-Aqsa last Sunday in celebration of the Hebrew year, and the extremist "Beidino" organization called on its supporters for a wide incursion into Al-Aqsa during the month to commemorate Rosh Hashanah, as Al-Aqsa witnesses intense incursions every year during this occasion, where the settlers perform temple rituals, especially blowing the shofar, while others hung banners referring to Al-Aqsa with the words "Temple Mount" on the streets surrounding the city of Jerusalem.

"Temple" groups announced that 58,310 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque during the past Hebrew year, an increase of 14% from last year, and fivefold compared to the past decade, according to their Hebrew calendar from October 2, 2024, to September 22, 2025.

They have also begun extensive preparations for incursions into Al-Aqsa during the Hebrew "Sukkot" holiday, which falls on October 6 and lasts for a week.

Regarding the Ibrahimi Mosque, the report indicated that the occupation forces prevented the call to prayer 92 times during September, as part of attempts to impose temporal and spatial division. The report noted provocations by the occupation within the mosque and raising Israeli flags, and it also mentioned that the occupation forces.

The report also documented other assaults on holy sites, including the storming of the old Marda Mosque in Salfit, where they tampered with the mosque's contents, fired gunshots and tear gas inside, and held the worshippers for eight hours.

They also besieged worshippers in the Al-Mansour Mosque in the town of Izzoun in Qalqilya during Friday prayers and arrested several worshippers, and stormed the Hanbali mosque in the old city of Nablus, tearing off its locks. At the same time, the occupation demolished the minaret of the Al-Faruq/Hijri Mosque, claiming it was too close to the military tower at the Al-Fawwar Triangle.

The ministry confirmed that these practices represent a blatant violation of its authorities and a serious encroachment on the sanctity of Islamic religious sites, imposing a new reality, calling on the international community to urgently intervene to stop these violations, which represent a provocation to the feelings of Muslims and an attempt to change the identity of Jerusalem and Islamic holy sites.
