Families of Israeli Captives: Ben Gvir and Smotrich Will Try to Sabotage and We Must Not Allow Them

SadaNews - The families of Israeli captives stated that Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir will try to thwart U.S. President Donald Trump's plan to end the war in the Gaza Strip.

The spokesperson for the families of the captives and the mother of one of the captives held in the strip remarked during the weekly protest in front of the Ministry of Security in Tel Aviv, "We have never been closer than now to retrieving all the abductees. These are crucial days."

She added, "The saboteurs of the negotiations are preparing to pressure Netanyahu, and we must stand before them like a wall. We cannot leave the negotiation arena open for sabotage, nor miss this opportunity." She pointed out that "we cannot rely solely on Trump, and I call on citizens to join us in the streets."

Protests are scheduled to be held on Saturday evening in several towns and major intersections, in support of reaching a deal that would end the war in Gaza and facilitate a prisoner exchange.

In this context, Netanyahu summoned the two extremist ministers Ben Gvir and Smotrich for an urgent meeting, in light of the developments regarding Trump's plan to end the war.

Netanyahu's office stated early Saturday that "in light of Hamas's response, Israel is preparing for the immediate implementation of the first phase of Trump's plan, to release all the abductees immediately"; adding, "We will continue to work in full cooperation with the President (of the U.S.) and his team to end the war according to the principles laid out by Israel, which align with President Trump's vision."
